Individual Counselling

Whether we like it or not there are times when we all struggle with a variety of personal issues, challenges and dilemmas, which if not addressed effectively can have a negative impact on how we choose to live our lives. These problems could be preventing us from being as effective as we would like to be and as a result we are unable to move forwards in our lives. When this happens we may decide to solve our problems on our own or turn to friends or family. Occasionally though, perhaps when a problem feels too sensitive or complicated we may choose to seek independent help and support. Counselling provides this necessary support and is designed to enhance our lives, validate choices, promote personal growth and bring about positive change.

Counselling can help you confront, tackle and work through:

Relationship Difficulties ♦ Personal Growth ♦ Work-Life Balance ♦ Stress Management ♦ Anxiety ♦ Anger Management ♦ Fears ♦ Bereavement ♦ Family Problems ♦ Low Self Esteem & Confidence ♦ Depression ♦ Issues at Work or at Home ♦ Lack of Direction / Fulfilment

Counselling always begins by establishing the most effective way we can work together. Goals are explored and time scales discussed. The number of sessions required depends entirely on your specific needs and circumstances. Often our work can be accomplished within a brief period of time provided you feel comfortable and have achieved a solution and a way forward that feels right for you. Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and take place in Brighton & Hove. The initial Counselling assessment consultation, which lasts for approximately 20 minutes and can take place either face to face or by phone, is free of charge. This provides an opportunity to explore what you hope to achieve in our work together.

Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs)

Wouldn’t it be great if your staff did not bring their personal problems to work? Whether we like it or not, they do and always will do. Fortunately, today more companies realise that when a person comes to work the “whole” person comes to work – it is not always possible to leave personal problems at home or work problems at work – the two tend to merge together and the impact is predictable; absenteeism goes up and productivity goes down followed by reduced performance in the work place.

An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) faces these issues head-on with a tailored 24 hour / 365 day a year confidential telephone and face to face Counselling Service – enabling your staff to address a wide range of issues and help an employee return to making a full and worthwhile contribution to the business.

Typical issues addressed through an Employee Assistance Programme include:

Stress at Work or Home ♦ Work / Life Balance ♦ Organisational Change ♦ Lack of Confidence / Self esteem ♦ Heath Issues ♦ Anxiety ♦ Legal Concerns ♦ Financial Worries ♦ Family & Relationship Problems ♦ Bereavement ♦ Alcohol & Drug Dependency

Now could be the ideal time to explore some of the key benefits of implementing an EAP specifically within your organisation. The provision of an EAP within your organisation is not only one of today’s most valuable and cost-effective human resource tools it also demonstrates that you genuinely care for the well being of your staff and are committed to creating and maintaining an atmosphere in which they can continue to give their best.
